Since last January 4^th, HIV-positive persons can visit freely the United States. For example, going shopping in New York for a weekend is now possible without having to hide being HIV-positive and fearing that discovery would mean having to face American justice. Similarly, persons living with HIV will no longer automatically see their application for immigration denied on this basis.
