The reason being of la Fondation Québécoise du Sida is to financially support its member organizations in their mission to fight HIV.
Why make a donation?
As one of Quebec’s leading non-profit organizations in the fight against HIV/AIDS, our Foundation depends on donations and contributions from individuals and companies to survive.
To fight HIV effectively and raise awareness of the epidemic, we need regular financial resources to support concrete actions:

TESTAMENTARY LEGACY
Would you like to pass on your legacy to our Foundation?
There are two ways to proceed with a bequest.
Pass on all or part of the residual value (value after taxes, administrative costs and, where applicable, the percentages of other beneficiaries) of your inheritance in the form of a percentage, enabling you to maintain the same proportion should the value of your inheritance change.
Transfer a specific amountof your inheritance to our Foundation.
We advise you to consult a notary and/or a legal advisor for advice on the organization of your will.
DONATION OF SECURITIES
Would you like to donate your securities to our Foundation?
Donating your securities is a good way to support our Foundation without impacting your cash flow.
What you can donate :
- Exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
- Mutual funds
- Bonds
When you donate securities to our Foundation, you don’t pay income tax on any gains you may realize if you sell them.
Instead, you receive a charitable tax receipt for the full value of your donation.
We have a securities donation program established in partnership with Caisse Populaire Desjardins that facilitates the donation process.
We recommend that you consult a financial advisor to help you through the process.
DONATION OF LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
Would you like to donate your life insurance policy to our Foundation?
There are two ways to proceed with a gift of a life insurance policy:
Transfer all rights to our Foundation, which becomes the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy. You will receive a tax receipt for the value of your policy.
Name our Foundation as beneficiary while retaining ownership of your life insurance policy. Your estate will receive a tax receipt upon your death. This type of gift can be used to offset your annual income tax assessment for as long as you pay the annual premium on the policy.
We recommend that you consult a financial advisor to help you with this process.
REGISTERED RETIREMENT INCOME FUND (RRIF) DONATION
Would you like to transfer your Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) to our Foundation?
There are two ways to make a RRIF donation:
During your lifetime, by making a donation with each withdrawal from your RRIF, which will enable you to obtain a tax receipt for the donation and recover a large portion of your income tax on the withdrawal.
Upon your death, by designating our Foundation as the beneficiary of your RRIF in a testamentary disposition, or by donating a life insurance product (if your RRIF is held in such a product).
We recommend that you consult a financial advisor to help you with this process.
PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP
Becoming a partner of the Fondation Québécoise du Sida means making a significant contribution to the fight against HIV and supporting people living with HIV.
Your involvement in our Foundation as a partner can take several forms:
A financial partnership, helping to fund the various activities of our members while enabling you to obtain significant tax deductions.
Human assistance at various events, enabling your employees to volunteer alongside us, giving you greater visibility with the general public and reinforcing your brand image.
A fund-raising event organized in your organization for the benefit of our Foundation, demonstrating your commitment to our cause and enabling your employees to obtain tax deductions.
