Montreal – a city without AIDS
October 31, 2017
Like other major metropolises around the world, the City of Montreal made a commitment on June 12 to do its part to end the AIDS epidemic in the world by 2030.
Montreal is thus in line with the Paris Declaration of 2014 which underlines the decisive role of cities in achieving theobjective 90-90-90 d’UNAIDS, by 2020: 90% of people living with HIV know their HIV status; 90% of people who know their HIV status are on antiretroviral treatment; 90% of people on treatment have an undetectable viral load.
For Mr. Coderre, (outgoing) mayor of Montreal, it is “one more step for Montreal to continue to be an inclusive, equitable and prosperous city, which acts to improve the quality of life of all of its citizens. and citizens ”.
The Fqsida hopes that the new person who will enter to the town hall will be able to respect this commitment towards the 90-90-90 objective which is in favor of a more just society and more respectful of the rights of all and all.
